BRAVARIO (Rumbero x Ufana)
Black homozygous Lusitano, born May 29th, 2006.
Bravario, homozygous black Lusitano stallion (tested by UC Davis). He is registered with IALHA and in the book of birth of the APSL. He will be presented at age 5 to the APSL for revision. He measures 15.3H at 4 years. His sire is 16.2H and dam is 15.2H, and we expect him to mature to 16 to 16.1H. He has gorgeous conformation; a lovely sloping shoulder, a short back and a strong croup combined to produce 3 wonderful gaits.
Bravario has started his dressage career in level 1, already scoring well in the upper 60's; he has the athleticism, brilliance, and temperament to perform at Grand Prix. His sweet and generous nature and his exceptional conformation, combined with the finest Portuguese bloodlines, makes him an ideal prospect for your mare.
His sire, Rumbero, is performing at
Prix St.Georges and schooling the Grand Prix movements. His grandsire, Altivo started his career in bullfighting and was sought by many of the largest Portuguese breeders as a sire with a revision score of 81 points. The combined average of his sire and dam bloodlines stand around 76 points, which is excellent. On his sire side, there is another wonderful Lusitano, the mare Quieta, who produced many of the finest dressage horses such as Oxalis who participated with rider Miguel Ralao Duarte at the 2008 Olympics.
Bravario's dam includes the bloodlines of none other than the famous Andrade foundation stallion, Yacht, a bloodline fervently sought by dressage riders.
Yacht (SA) is one of the most important stallions in the Lusitano breed at all times; his name will be forever inscribed into the Hall of Fame of outstanding stallions who have made the Lusitano the fabulous horse he is today. Yacht SA is son of Martini SA, the son of Príncipe VIII FCN who was the foundation of the Andrade (SA) lineage. Three of Martini's sons, Yacht, Urco SA and Zamorim SA were responsible for the preservation of Príncipe VIII's blood in the Andrade horse. Of the three brothers, Yacht was the most fertile, produced until 2005, more than 150 descendants in Brazil and Portugal. Before being imported by Interagro, Yacht served in several
Portuguese breeders, among whom, Manuel Veiga (MV), Arsênio Raposo Cordeiro (RC), Isabel Holstein Campilho (IC), Lopo de Vasconcellos (FLV) and Raul Telles de Carvalho (TC). Yacht is one of the stallions who has served in two of the most famous Portuguese breeders, Manuel Veiga (MV) and Andrade (SA), both basic lineages of the Lusitano breed.
Yacht himself, and many of his descendants won several dressage competitions in Portugal. Some of Yacht's sons and grandsons became very important stallions in Portugal and in Brazil, among whom, Dragão II SA, Galeão SA, Ícaro SA, Fado II MV, Farol IC and mares like Gavial SA, Haste SA, Habilidosa SA, Idiota SA (all of them imported by Interagro) and also Íris SA, Ignavia SA, Darmstadt SA, all from the Andrade SA stud. Amongst his famous and prized grandsons are: Gatão JHC and Faraó JHC, both imported by Interagro, Faisão CF and Inca RC. Yacht's superb athletic qualities – so typical of his lineage - have been passed on to many of his sons and grandsons.
Fresh cooled semen only.
Limited breeding will be available in 2012.
